Firefly Technology Inc. has secured $20 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Definition Capital, with participation from BoxGroup and Susa Ventures.

The startup focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into physical safety systems. Its Ember Safety Management platform connects existing security hardware, such as cameras and sensors, into a unified, intelligent network.

The company also produces proprietary hardware, including wearable panic buttons, AI beacons for gunshot detection, and network gateways. These tools are designed to coordinate emergency responses automatically.

The platform is currently in use at Front Range Community College in Colorado, covering three campuses. Firefly intends to scale its deployments across hospitals, educational centers, and enterprise facilities.
