The Jetta brand, a subsidiary of the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture, has opened pre-sales for its first all-electric sedan, the M6. The vehicle is built on the proprietary Jiesi architecture and features front-wheel drive. Customers can choose between two peak power configurations of 113 kW or 145 kW. The sedan measures 4.81 meters in length, 1.90 meters in width, and 1.50 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.82 meters.
The M6 is available in three trim levels: 465 Pro, 555 Max, and 555 Ultra. The model names correspond to the vehicle's range based on the Chinese test cycle. The battery cells are supplied by CALB, while the final battery packs are assembled by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture. Depending on the motor variant, the car reaches a top speed of 166 or 172 km/h, with a curb weight ranging from 1,557 to 1,628 kilograms.
Pricing for the new sedan is set between ¥80,800 and ¥99,800. The official market launch in China is scheduled for mid-October. Jetta aims to capture the entry-level EV segment and plans to reach an annual production and sales volume of 400,000 to 500,000 vehicles in the medium term. By 2028, the brand intends for four out of its five planned models to be New Energy Vehicles.
