FAW has expanded its Bestune Pony lineup in China with the launch of a five-door hatchback model. The vehicle is priced between ¥44 900 and ¥54 900, which is approximately $6 735 to $8 230. This new version aims to increase the model's appeal by offering more space and utility compared to the original three-door variant.
The five-door model measures 3 350 mm in length, 1 540 mm in width, and 1 600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2 215 mm. These dimensions represent an increase of 350 mm in length and 262 mm in wheelbase compared to the three-door version. The interior features four seats, and the trunk capacity has been increased to 265 liters, expandable to 1 052 liters with the rear seats folded.
The vehicle is equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor producing 30 kW. Customers can choose between two LFP battery capacities of 17 kWh and 27.2 kWh, providing a CLTC-rated range of 222 to 328 km. The top speed of the hatchback is 103 km/h. The previous three-door version, priced between ¥34 900 and ¥42 900, saw sales of 47 929 units from January to September 2026.
