Fairshake, a prominent crypto-focused political action committee, has increased its financial efforts to oppose Senator Sherrod Brown in Ohio. Recent filings with the Federal Election Commission reveal that Defend American Jobs, an affiliate of Fairshake, allocated $5,2 million for media buys against Brown, followed by an additional $1,95 million, along with production expenses.
The total expenditure by the PAC against Brown has now exceeded $40 million, reaching approximately $46,66 million for the current calendar year. This makes the Ohio race the most expensive target for the crypto industry in the 2026 campaign cycle. The PAC had previously signaled plans to spend at least $30 million on this effort, a threshold it has now surpassed.
Beyond the Senate race, Fairshake is expanding its influence in the House. On October 5, the organization announced support for 32 incumbents, including 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats. It committed $6 million to six specific candidates, with each receiving $1 million. These candidates previously supported the Clarity Act during its passage in the House in July 2025.
Fairshake is primarily funded by major industry players, including Coinbase, Ripple, and Andreessen Horowitz. As of the beginning of September, the PAC held approximately $120 million in cash reserves. The organization expects to spend more than $100 million across various House and Senate races throughout the current election cycle to influence future cryptocurrency regulation.
