Evoblast and In Vitro Vision have updated their Mayak hardware-software complex. The new sensors feature a diameter of 90 mm, compared to the previous 110 mm standard. This change enables the system to function effectively in small-diameter wells, preventing potential blockages that occurred with larger sensors in wells as narrow as 127 mm.
The developers also redesigned the scanner pole, introducing a pike-shaped tip. This modification serves two purposes: it provides physical stability for operators moving across rubble and improves signal focus. According to the company, these enhancements have reduced the time required to locate a sensor from three minutes to two minutes.
The Mayak system is used to track sensors placed in control wells along the perimeter of ore bodies. Following blasting operations, the system determines the exact position of the markers and the ore with an accuracy of up to 10 cm. This precision helps mining companies minimize the loss of valuable raw materials during the excavation process.
