Ethereum Institutional, a non-profit established on July 1, 2026, has appointed David Duong as its Head of US. Duong, who previously served as Global Head of Investment Research at Coinbase, brings over 20 years of experience from institutions like HSBC and Deutsche Bank.

Based in New York, Duong will lead the organization's engagement with American financial institutions. His focus will be on three primary areas: tokenization, stablecoins, and on-chain infrastructure.

The non-profit operates independently from the Ethereum Foundation to provide a neutral platform for financial institutions. The group reports having established over 500 institutional relationships to date.

The organization plans to host industry events in New York, London, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Its funding is supported by backers including Bitmine Immersion Technologies, SharpLink, and Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin.

The leadership team includes Executive Director David Walsh, with a board featuring Thomas Lee and Joseph Chalom. The appointment coincides with the launch of JPM Coin on the Ethereum L1 network.
