The European Space Agency and The Pokemon Company International have announced a collaborative program for World Space Week, scheduled for October 4–10. The initiative aims to educate the public about European space missions, solar studies, and the exploration of the solar system through family-oriented exhibitions.

A plush Pikachu toy served as a mascot for the project, spending 67 days aboard the International Space Station. Accompanied by ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, the toy completed approximately 1,040 orbits around Earth between April 11 and June 17, marking a unique integration of space science and pop culture.

Starting October 4, the partnership will expand to include special events at European museums and space centers. The program features a dedicated collection of apparel and accessories, alongside exclusive digital content for the Pokemon GO mobile game, such as astronaut-themed Pikachu encounters and raids.
