The research organization Epoch AI has expanded its database to monitor 86 major AI-focused data centers worldwide. These facilities represent approximately 46% of the total global AI compute capacity as of June 2026, a significant increase from the 22% coverage reported in early 2024.

The tracked infrastructure currently supports a combined IT power capacity of 13.3 gigawatts and hosts roughly 13.9 million H100-equivalent GPUs. The database utilizes a methodology that integrates satellite imagery with public documentation to track power usage and construction progress.

The list of largest facilities is led by the SpaceXAI Colossus 2 site, which operates 1.112 million H100-equivalent GPUs. Microsoft’s Fairwater Atlanta facility ranks second with 769,000 units, followed by an Amazon site in Indiana dedicated to Anthropic with 686,000 units.

While the majority of the monitored sites are located in the United States, the database also includes facilities in China and Malaysia. Epoch AI plans to continue expanding its coverage, with current project timelines documenting infrastructure developments projected through 2028.
