Epic Games and Apple are in a dispute over the disclosure of internal documents regarding the new App Store commission structure. Epic accuses Apple of delaying the process, while Apple claims it has already fulfilled its initial obligations and blames Epic for the slow pace of document requests.

In August, Apple introduced a new commission rate of 5% to 15% for transactions made via external links, replacing the previous 27% rate. Epic is currently challenging Apple's right to charge any commission on these transactions and is seeking access to internal records to understand how these specific rates were determined.

Apple maintains that only four executives, including Tim Cook and Eddy Cue, were involved in setting the new rates, relying heavily on external expert analysis. Epic argues that broader internal teams and international market research also influenced the decision, demanding access to a wider range of documents.

Apple has agreed to expand the scope of document retrieval following Epic's requests, with an expected completion date of November 25. However, the parties remain at odds over the necessity of court intervention, as Epic seeks a firm deadline and broader access to international policy records.
