Hamburg-based energytech firm 1KOMMA5° has secured €70 million in a new funding round, bringing its valuation to $1.35 billion. The investment included participation from existing backers and new investor Marunouchi Innovation Partners, a Tokyo-based climate tech fund supported by Mitsubishi Corporation.
The company plans to allocate over €100 million in 2027 to its Heartbeat AI software platform. This system automates electricity trading, billing, and metering for connected home devices, including solar panels, batteries, and EV chargers. Currently, the software controls one gigawatt of capacity, with a target of 20 gigawatts by 2030.
Financial projections for 2026 estimate revenue at approximately €700 million, with an operating profit of €40 million from the hardware segment. Heartbeat AI generated an annualized revenue of about €30 million as of August 2026, representing roughly 4% of the group's total expected revenue.
CEO Philipp Schröder indicated that the company is evaluating a potential entry into the US market in 2027. Plans for an initial public offering remain dependent on the firm's performance in 2027, following the postponement of previous IPO timelines in April 2025 due to shifts in renewable energy policy.
