Edge Sound Research has secured $2 million in a new funding round led by Stormbreaker Ventures. This investment brings the company’s total funding to $9 million.
The startup develops audio infrastructure designed to help physical AI systems interpret real-time environments. By combining audio data with visual and tracking inputs, the platform isolates specific sounds and links them to objects.
The company’s technology utilizes a digital twin approach, allowing users to map 3D spaces and sensor locations. This enables AI models to identify sound sources, such as players in a sports arena or approaching emergency sirens for autonomous vehicles.
The platform is hardware-independent and integrates with existing microphones and cameras. The company currently serves commercial partners including the National Basketball Association, Fox Sports Media Group, Shure Inc., and the United States Tennis Association.
Edge Sound plans to use the new capital to complete integrations with existing enterprise clients and scale its platform components across industries in preparation for a Series A round.
