Doubao mobile assistant recently clarified its current capabilities regarding GUI automation. The tool currently supports system applications, ZTE apps, ByteDance-related software, and a limited number of third-party services that have integrated with the platform.
On September 14, the company introduced a screen automation protocol and initiated a 30-day public notice period. Third-party developers can now define their own operational boundaries, choosing to permit or block AI-driven screen interactions within their applications.
Until October 15, applications that have not explicitly granted permission will remain restricted from automation across all device models, including the M153. The company is currently engaging with developers to expand compatibility after the notice period concludes.
Even after the public notice period, developers retain the right to opt out of automation. If a developer chooses to restrict access, Doubao mobile assistant will disable the corresponding features for that specific application.
Beyond GUI automation, the assistant offers features such as smart services, shopping tools, recording summaries, and task management. Additionally, the Nubia NaviX Ultra, known as the second-generation Doubao phone, launched with a starting price of ¥5999.
