DoorDash has launched a new returns service, Dasher Returns, allowing customers to schedule package pickups for retail orders. Users pay a flat fee of $7.99 for the service, and a courier can collect the items from their doorstep in as little as 30 minutes to return them to the store.

The program includes partnerships with major retail brands such as Macy’s, Anthropologie, The North Face, Vans, and Timberland. Once the courier delivers the items back to the retailer, the return is processed on-site, enabling customers to receive their refunds within a few days.

The company also recently announced a drone delivery collaboration with Lowe’s and Google’s Wing. Data from 2025 indicates that drone-delivered orders arrived in an average of 25 minutes, with some participating locations experiencing an order volume increase of approximately 30%.

According to Barclays research, autonomous delivery costs are lower than conventional methods. The analysis suggests that reducing fulfillment expenses is particularly significant for the economics of smaller orders, such as those valued at $15, compared to higher-value transactions.
