Notebookcheck tested the Asus Googlebook 14 and HP Googlebook 14c, finding that both devices are currently restricted to the sRGB color space. Despite the panels theoretically supporting the P3 color space, users cannot switch to it via system settings, which limits the devices' utility for photo and image editing.

The HP Googlebook 14c does not support HDR video playback. While the Asus Googlebook 14 supports HDR, it exhibits abnormal black levels with a brightness of 0.42. This performance is closer to an IPS panel than an OLED screen, resulting in a contrast ratio of approximately 1200:1.

Notebookcheck noted that they have not previously encountered such atypical OLED screen behavior. The publication suggests that Google should collaborate with manufacturers to address these display issues, as the current performance does not align with the premium market positioning of the Googlebook line.
