Dell Technologies and Microsoft are expanding their partnership to integrate hybrid cloud, database, and automation capabilities for enterprise AI deployment. The collaboration focuses on connecting Microsoft Azure Local and SQL Server with Dell’s infrastructure, including PowerEdge compute and PowerStore storage.
The companies aim to address data fragmentation and operational complexity, which are cited as major barriers to scaling AI. Dell’s Automation Platform and Azure Arc provide management across on-premises and cloud environments, while Dell PowerScale for Microsoft Azure enables managed file storage within the Azure portal.
To manage the rising costs of AI token consumption, Dell introduced Deskside Agentic AI in May. Additionally, in early October, Dell expanded its Windows PC and workstation portfolio to support agentic AI development, utilizing tools like Windows AI Foundry to provide governed environments for building and scaling agents.
Market research highlights the need for these integrated solutions, noting that 88% of AI pilots fail to reach production. Dell and Microsoft are targeting this gap by simplifying infrastructure operations and providing consistent management tools for enterprises to move from experimentation to production-grade AI.
