Metascan and the Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF) have invested 10 ₽ million into Defbox, a platform for training corporate cybersecurity teams. The deal marks the first investment round for the startup, with Metascan acquiring a 24.5% stake in the company.
Defbox, established in October 2025, focuses on enterprise-level clients. The platform provides virtual infrastructure for Red Team and Blue Team specialists, SOC engineers, and penetration testers to practice real-world scenarios, such as vulnerability exploitation and incident response.
The startup has already secured contracts worth 67 ₽ million for 2026 and projects a total annual revenue of approximately 80 ₽ million. The new funding will be used to expand the team of experts responsible for developing training scenarios and virtual laboratory environments.
The investment is part of a joint fund launched by Metascan and IIDF in July 2026 with a total capital of 600 ₽ million. The fund targets Russian B2B cybersecurity startups with existing products and confirmed market demand, offering investments ranging from 5 ₽ million to 100 ₽ million.
