San Francisco-based startup Daytona has secured $60 million in a Series B funding round, reaching a valuation of $1 billion. The investment was led by FirstMark Growth and brings the company's total funding to $91 million. Approximately $50 million of the new capital came from existing investors, including E2VC, Upfront Ventures, Pace Capital, and FirstMark.
The round attracted notable angel investors, including Patrick Collison of Stripe, Tobi Lutke of Shopify, and Aravind Srinivas of Perplexity. Strategic investments were provided by Qualcomm Ventures, Samsung Next, and Okta Ventures. Daytona plans to use the funds primarily for hiring sales staff and engineers, aiming to expand its team beyond the current 35 employees.
Founded in 2023 by Ivan Burazin, Vedran Jukic, and Goran Draganic, the company provides isolated virtual environments, or sandboxes, for AI agents to execute code and perform tasks safely. The platform supports Linux, Windows, macOS, and GPU environments. Daytona reports that its revenue run rate has increased approximately 25-fold since January.
Daytona serves a client base that includes Anthropic, OpenAI, NVIDIA, Meta, and Cohere. The company’s infrastructure allows AI agents to pause, resume, and replicate sandboxes to test multiple approaches simultaneously. According to the company, these environments can be initialized in 60 milliseconds.
