Representatives from MetaMask, Trezor, and ChangeNOW discussed the integration of AI agents into crypto wallets at the Token2049 conference, held on October 7–8, 2026, in Singapore. The discussion focused on balancing user control with the automation capabilities of AI agents.
MetaMask launched its Agent Wallet in early access on June 8, 2026, with a broader rollout planned for summer 2026. The wallet is self-custodial, ensuring that private keys remain with the user while AI agents execute DeFi transactions across platforms.
The Agent Wallet includes several security features, such as transaction simulation, threat scanning powered by Blockaid, and MEV protection. Additionally, the service offers transaction protection coverage of up to $10 000 per month.
Trezor continues to focus on hardware-based storage for private keys, while ChangeNOW provides API infrastructure for non-custodial cross-chain swaps. The integration of these tools aims to allow users to delegate authority to AI agents without compromising security.
