Cornelis Networks secured $205 million in a funding round led by IAG Capital Partners. The capital will support the production of the company's CN5000 and CN6000 networking switches and expand its presence in the scale-up networking market.

The company introduced its Active Compute Fabric architecture, which integrates programmable compute and in-fabric acceleration. This design aims to offload processing tasks from AI chips to the network, reducing congestion within large AI clusters.

The CN5000 switch currently delivers 400 Gbps throughput. The CN6000 model, which supports multiple protocols at 800 Gbps, is scheduled for broader availability in Q4 2026.

Cornelis emphasizes open-standards networking, including support for Ultra Ethernet and UALink. The company also announced a strategic partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, with plans to demonstrate their collaboration at the AI Infra Summit.

Originally a 2020 spinout from Intel based on Omni-Path Architecture, Cornelis has transitioned from high-performance computing to the AI networking sector. Its technology is currently used in the Lynx supercomputer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
