API3 has integrated the CoinGecko API into its AirnodeHub marketplace, allowing AI agents to access verified market data and wallet balances. The integration was announced by API3 on October 20, 2026, with CoinGecko confirming the update on October 22, 2026.
AirnodeHub, which entered early access on October 5, 2026, launched with approximately 36 data services, including market data, FX rates, and weather updates. The platform uses OpenAPI specifications and x-airnode metadata to enable machine-readable service discovery for AI agents.
The platform supports agent protocols such as MCP and provides cryptographic signatures for data responses to ensure provenance. Currently, all API calls on the marketplace are free of charge during the early access phase.
API3 intends to transition service providers to operate their own Airnodes, allowing them to retain the majority of generated revenue. Future pricing models for the pay-per-request system have not yet been implemented.
