The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and three other departments have issued a draft notice regarding the management of automotive product design and testing. The document mandates that manufacturers must strictly adhere to national and industry standards when conducting research and testing, ensuring that mass-produced vehicles match the specifications approved in official announcements.
Manufacturers are required to maintain accurate marketing practices. The guidelines prohibit false or misleading advertising and forbid the use of scenarios that violate traffic laws. Companies must not encourage drivers to ignore safety responsibilities and must clearly communicate the limitations and functional boundaries of new design features to consumers through accessible manuals and training materials.
The policy also establishes requirements for post-sales support and incident management. Manufacturers must provide clear service commitments, maintain a supply of qualified spare parts, and are encouraged to purchase product liability insurance. Furthermore, companies are obligated to investigate safety incidents, maintain accurate data records, and provide technical assistance to public security authorities during accident investigations.
