The Cyberspace Administration of China has released a report detailing multiple cases of illegal military-related content on social media platforms. The authorities have shut down several accounts found to be spreading harmful information that disrupts the online environment and damages the image of the military.

Specific violations include the use of AI to generate fake military-themed animations and videos, such as fabricated stories about military personnel or doctored photos with generals. Other accounts were found conducting fraudulent military exam training, falsely claiming to offer internal admission quotas or relaxed medical standards to profit from candidates.

Additional cases involve malicious traffic harvesting, where accounts sold fake military calligraphy or provided paid consulting services under the guise of internal information. Some operators also used fake military uniforms for marketing or spread misinformation about selling military positions and academic certifications.

The crackdown also targeted accounts exploiting the status of veterans to spread negative content, including sensitive information about military exercises that poses security risks. Furthermore, authorities identified accounts illegally selling military textbooks, uniforms, and imitation military goods, violating established management regulations.
