The Chazov National Medical Research Center of Cardiology and the AI developer Third Opinion have entered into a three-year partnership agreement signed on October 8. The collaboration aims to develop a system for the early detection of markers associated with ischemic heart disease and myocardial infarction.

The project involves analyzing the medical archives of patients who have experienced acute coronary syndrome. Researchers plan to build a predictive model that integrates findings from radiological examinations with patient biochemical data. The initiative utilizes the principle of opportunistic screening to identify risk factors during routine scans.

According to the developer, their AI technology facilitates the early detection of 69% of coronary calcification cases during chest CT scans. The partners will also test the system on anonymized data to compare the efficiency and workload of radiologists when using AI tools versus manual analysis.

A secondary objective of the partnership is to establish clinical algorithms for the follow-up and monitoring of patients identified with cardiovascular risks. Data from the Russian Ministry of Health as of July 2025 indicates that cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of mortality in Russia, accounting for 44% of deaths.
