Chainalysis, a blockchain analytics firm, reported a security breach involving unauthorized access to its internal systems. The incident was disclosed on October 30, 2026, after external parties gained access to specific customer records.
The compromised data includes user names, email addresses, unique user IDs, and organization role labels. The company confirmed that investigative materials, transaction results, and query data remained secure.
According to the firm, the attackers did not obtain passwords, multi-factor authentication secrets, or session tokens. Chainalysis stated that these credentials remain protected, preventing unauthorized account access.
The company attributed the intrusion to offensive agentic techniques, which involve AI-driven methods capable of executing multi-step tasks. Chainalysis has engaged external cybersecurity experts to assist with the investigation.
Affected customers have been notified of the breach. The firm is currently working to patch identified vulnerabilities and strengthen its internal security infrastructure.
