CATL addressed investor concerns regarding future industry demand, stating that the outlook for 2027 remains positive. The company believes that the market is not as pessimistic as some analysts suggest, citing ongoing growth potential in both power and energy storage battery sectors.
Domestically, CATL noted that despite a decline in overall passenger vehicle sales this year, the electrification rate and battery capacity per vehicle are increasing. This has led to positive growth in the demand for power batteries for new energy passenger vehicles, alongside rising electrification in the commercial vehicle segment.
Regarding international markets, the company highlighted the continuity of the electrification trend in Europe, driven by the introduction of competitive new models. CATL also suggested that the electrification potential in other global markets may be currently underestimated by the industry.
In the energy storage sector, the company reported strong growth both domestically and internationally, with particularly high demand in certain overseas markets. These factors contribute to a stable outlook for global battery demand, which the company expects to maintain healthy growth.
Addressing capacity utilization, CATL confirmed that its production lines were highly saturated during the first half of the year. While recent capacity expansions have eased previous constraints, the company expects utilization rates to remain at a high and healthy level due to continuous demand growth.
