CATL has introduced its new Tener+ energy storage system, which features a 9 MWh capacity. The product is designed for grid-scale projects and aims to reduce container requirements by up to 40% and project footprints by 12% compared to conventional solutions. The system offers a 25-year design life and includes options for high-temperature optimization or zero-degradation performance for 3 years.
The company also showcased its Tener Sodium storage system in Australia for the first time. This modular architecture provides over 30 MWh of capacity and is capable of operating at temperatures up to 55°C. CATL recently announced a partnership with Germany's Intilion to deploy 3 GWh of sodium-ion storage systems across Europe over the next 5 years.
In Australia, CATL signed memorandums of understanding with Hitachi Energy, EPEC Group, and UNSW Sydney. These agreements cover integrated solutions, grid connection, engineering delivery, and the creation of a training center in Western Sydney. The company has already deployed over 3,000 projects globally, with its Australian installed capacity exceeding 17 GWh.
According to SNE Research, CATL held a 27.1% global market share in lithium-ion energy storage battery shipments during the first half of 2026. Total shipments for that period reached 125 GWh, representing an 81% year-on-year increase. The company continues to expand its presence beyond equipment supply into long-term project services.
