BYD has launched the Sealion 08, a new flagship SUV within its Ocean series, which is available in both fully electric and plug-in hybrid versions. The vehicle received over 12,000 orders within the first 24 hours of its market debut on September 2.
The SUV features the Blade Battery 2.0 with Flash Charging technology, allowing a charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes. The electric variant starts at ¥239 900 and offers a range of up to 900 km, while the hybrid model provides a combined range of 1,650 km.
The Sealion 08 is equipped with the DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension and the God’s Eye 5.0 intelligent driving system. Interior amenities include a 17.3-inch infotainment screen, a 26-inch augmented-reality head-up display, and a 21.4-inch rear entertainment screen.
The company has begun nationwide shipments of the new model. This launch follows the success of the Great Tang SUV, which secured over 30,000 orders in its first 24 hours and reached 100,000 orders within two weeks of its release.
