BYD has reached a cumulative production milestone of 150 000 commercial new energy vehicles. The 150 000th unit, a Q3 electric semi truck, was manufactured at the company's facility in Huai'an, Jiangsu province.

The company reported a 113% year-over-year increase in commercial vehicle sales for September. During the first nine months of 2026, sales reached 48 492 units, compared to 37 578 vehicles sold in the same period of 2025, representing a 29% growth.

BYD began its commercial vehicle operations with city buses and initiated truck research and development in 2012. The current product lineup now includes urban delivery, cold-chain logistics, and long-haul transport solutions.

The Q3 electric semi truck is identified as a strategic model for the company's expansion into the long-haul heavy-duty truck market. BYD plans to increase its investment in this sector to further grow its commercial vehicle business.
