The upcoming BYD Great Seagull electric hatchback features a length of 4205 mm, a width of 1810 mm, and a height of 1570 mm. Its wheelbase measures 2650 mm, which is 150 mm longer than the standard Seagull model. The exterior design includes a closed-off front grille and polygonal light clusters, with a new Ink Green color option available.

The vehicle is equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor supporting the DiPilot 300 driver-assistance system. This technology enables automated parking, traffic light recognition, autonomous lane changing, and navigation on highways and in urban environments. The interior layout replaces the traditional instrument cluster with a large central touchscreen and a two-spoke steering wheel.

The Great Seagull uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum output of 95 kW, or 127 hp. It is powered by FinDreams lithium iron phosphate batteries with capacities of 30 kWh or 39.2 kWh. These provide a CLTC range of 320 km to 420 km, with a top speed of 150 km/h. The model is positioned as a premium alternative to the standard Seagull.

In July 2026, BYD recorded 10,103 domestic deliveries for the Seagull and 16,829 deliveries for the Dolphin. While the standard Seagull starts at ¥69 800, the Great Seagull is intended to fill the market gap between the Seagull and the Dolphin, offering more advanced features and larger dimensions.
