BYD announced the completion of its 2,000th high-speed flash charging station, scheduled for September 24, 2026. This milestone marks the conclusion of the initial phase of the company's 'Flash Charge China' strategy, which focuses on highway infrastructure. The construction timeline for these stations was accelerated to be finished before the October holiday travel peak.
The broader 'Flash Charge China' strategy, launched on March 5, 2026, aims to establish 20,000 charging stations nationwide by the end of 2026. This network includes 18,000 urban stations and 2,000 highway stations, covering approximately one-third of highway service areas. The company ensures that a charging station is available on average every 100 kilometers.
As of August 28, BYD had already deployed 10,000 total charging stations across China. All facilities are open to electric vehicles from any brand. The infrastructure supports the second-generation Blade Battery, utilizing a 1000V high-voltage platform with a maximum single-gun output of 1500kW.
Technical performance data shows that the system can charge a battery from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and to 97% in 9 minutes under normal temperatures. Even in extreme cold conditions of minus 30 degrees Celsius, the time required to charge from 20% to 97% increases by only 3 minutes compared to standard operating temperatures.
