BYD has fully commissioned its production facility in the Qinhan New City district of Xixian, Xi'an. This site serves as the primary hub for manufacturing second-generation Blade batteries in Northwest China and supplies the company's local electric vehicle assembly lines.
The factory manages the entire production chain, including electrode preparation, cell formation, and module assembly. The facility integrates an intelligent MES system to oversee manufacturing processes and supports the localization of key battery components and fast-charging technology.
The project timeline was notably compressed, with only 10 months passing between the initial agreement and the start of operations. The first battery cell was produced on October 17, 2025, while the second-generation Blade battery was officially unveiled in March 2026.
Production capacity has been scaling since June 2026, with the facility currently supporting the manufacturing of the Seal 08 model launched on July 2. BYD plans to further increase monthly output of the new battery generation throughout the second half of 2026.
