BYD announced plans to install 100 flash chargers across Europe by the end of 2026. The company aims to scale this infrastructure significantly, targeting 3,000 stations in the region by the end of 2027. This European network will represent half of the manufacturer's planned global overseas deployment of 6,000 stations for that year.

The proprietary flash chargers deliver up to 1,500 kW of DC power. Vehicles equipped with second-generation Blade Batteries can reach a 70% charge from 10% in five minutes, with a 97% charge taking nine minutes. Currently, the Denza Z9 GT station wagon is the only BYD model in Europe compatible with this technology.

The company plans to expand its lineup of compatible vehicles in the European market. The seven-seater Atto 8 electric crossover is scheduled for release in Q1 2027. This model features a 115 kWh LFP battery, dual motors with 570 kW peak power, and a WLTP range of 653 km. Additional compatible models are expected to follow.

BYD currently operates 12,165 flash chargers in China and intends to deploy 20,000 stations globally by the end of 2026. The first European charger was installed in Germany in June, with additional units already operational in countries including the UK.
