Bybit has secured a Virtual Asset Service Provider license from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). The authorization specifically covers exchange services for spot trading and was issued to the company’s local entity, Bybit Fintech FZE.
The exchange established its international headquarters in Dubai in 2022. The company stated that it remains committed to regulatory compliance, security, and risk management as it continues to expand its global operations.
This license is part of a broader regulatory expansion for Bybit in 2026. During this year, the firm has already obtained five additional licenses and approvals across the European Union, the Cayman Islands, Indonesia, South Africa, and El Salvador.
VARA, which was launched in 2022, operates as a specialized regulatory body for virtual assets. Its framework requires crypto firms to obtain separate approvals for distinct activities, such as custody, lending, broker-dealer services, and exchange operations.
