On October 1, 2026, French supercomputer manufacturer Bull SAS inaugurated an expanded production facility in Angers. The upgrade, which cost €80 million, doubles the factory's monthly capacity from 6 to 12 racks. The company aims to potentially reach 24 racks per month by 2027.

The expansion allows for parallel assembly of major systems. Currently, the plant is working on the 94-rack Alice Recoque supercomputer and the LUMI-AI system for Finland. The latter is valued at €388 million and represents the largest contract in the company's history.

Bull SAS became fully state-owned on March 31, 2026, following a buyout from Atos for up to €404 million. CEO Emmanuel Le Roux noted record order intake for 2026, including a nearly €100 million contract with Airbus for simulation capabilities.

The company's output supports the EU's €7 billion investment plan for supercomputing infrastructure. While Bull has increased the European component content of its systems to approximately 70%, it continues to rely on American accelerators from AMD, Nvidia, and Intel.
