The Brax Wink smartphone features a 4-inch OLED display and a physical keyboard. Its modular design allows users to swap the keyboard for an additional battery module. The device is powered by the MediaTek MT8875 octa-core processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card.
The device runs on the open-source BraxOS, which is based on Android but excludes Google services and data tracking. Privacy features include a physical side switch that disables the mobile network, microphone, camera, sensors, and location services. Additionally, the phone supports automatic data wiping triggered by specific events, such as entering a duress password or multiple failed unlock attempts.
The hardware includes a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 3.5mm headphone jack, with a thickness of 10mm. The company has committed to providing software updates until 2032. The phone lacks a front-facing camera and fingerprint recognition, requiring a PIN or password for every unlock.
The retail price for the device is set at $700. Customers can pre-order the first batch for $449, with delivery expected in July 2027. A second option requires a $30 deposit, bringing the total cost to $550, with delivery scheduled for September 2027.
