Bosch has introduced an updated Active Line Plus motor for electric bicycles, featuring increased power and a more compact design. The unit now delivers up to 600 watts of peak power and 60 Nm of torque, with a maximum pedal assistance level of 340%.
The motor incorporates a new two-stage gearbox that reduces its volume by 17% and weight by 0.5 kg, bringing the total weight to 2.7 kg. These changes allow manufacturers to integrate the drive system into slimmer bicycle frames.
The updated hardware includes improved sealing and bearings for better durability, while the housing is constructed from approximately 40% recycled aluminum. The system supports the eShift electronic shifting feature.
Trek is the first North American brand to adopt the new motor, debuting it on the Marlin+ e-bike model. The system is designed for Class 1 electric bicycles, providing assistance up to 32 km/h.
Bosch also expanded its ecosystem with a new 65% smaller LED Controller, an updated ConnectModule with Bluetooth tracking, and a 720 Wh PowerTube battery weighing 3.9 kg. A 2.4-inch Intuvia 200 display was also released.
