Bosch has announced a major restructuring of its German operations, a move that will impact approximately 62,500 employees. The company plans to transition its mobility business, currently a division within the corporate headquarters, into a separate legal entity.

The mobility division will join other segments like consumer goods, industrial technology, and energy and building technology as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bosch Group. The restructuring process is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.

The new legal entity for the mobility business is expected to begin operations on August 1, 2027. This change aims to grant the division greater operational autonomy, streamline decision-making processes, and allow for more targeted resource allocation.

Bosch stated that the reorganization is a response to increasing competitive pressure, particularly from rivals in Asian markets. The company intends to simplify its internal structure to accelerate product development and improve overall profitability.
