BNB Chain has scheduled the Jenner hardfork for its testnet on October 28, 2026. This protocol upgrade incorporates three specific BNB Evolution Proposals, known as BEPs, aimed at improving network performance and compliance capabilities.

The BEP-703 proposal introduces a Payment Lane, which reserves 5% of each block's gas for basic BNB transfers to ensure they continue processing during periods of high network congestion. This feature provides a guaranteed capacity for standard transactions.

The BEP-702 proposal establishes the CAS20 standard for compliant assets. It enables the issuance of stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets with built-in governance controls, such as allowlists and blocklists, managed at the protocol level.

The BEP-706 proposal adds millisecond precision to block timestamps via a precompile at address 0x70. This change allows DeFi oracles and lending protocols to execute timing-sensitive operations with greater accuracy compared to the current whole-second standard.

Node operators must update to reth-bsc v0.1.3 or apply relevant BSC Geth updates before the activation. While the official date is October 28, some documentation suggests an activation on the Chapel testnet for October 29.

Following the testnet phase, BNB Chain intends to deploy the Jenner upgrade to the mainnet in late November 2026. The exact timing for the mainnet release has not been finalized.
