Developers have officially canceled the activation of the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet, which was originally scheduled for October 26, 2026, at epoch 132,352. Node operators are now instructed to use client software that does not include the fork to ensure test data remains accurate.

The Glamsterdam upgrade combines the Amsterdam execution-layer changes with the Gloas consensus-layer updates. Key features include enshrined proposer-builder separation via EIP-7732, the introduction of block-level access lists, and adjustments to gas pricing intended to scale the Ethereum Layer 1.

A notable component of the Hoodi test was a planned increase in the block gas limit target from approximately 60 million to 200 million. This change was intended to mirror the behavior observed during the successful activation of the upgrade on the Sepolia testnet on October 6, 2026.

While developers previously discussed a potential mainnet launch window in early December, the cancellation of the Hoodi test has made this timeline uncertain. No official mainnet activation date has been set, and there are currently no required actions for standard Ethereum mainnet users.
