BMW is preparing a mid-cycle facelift for its electric iX2 SUV, scheduled for release in 2028. The updated model adopts the Neue Klasse design language, characterized by smaller front kidney grilles and a refined aesthetic. This shift aligns the iX2 with other recent BMW models that have moved away from larger grille designs.

The exterior revisions include redesigned headlights with V-shaped LED daytime running lights and updated taillights. Inside, the vehicle features the new Panoramic iDrive system spanning the dashboard, alongside an angular central infotainment display and a four-spoke steering wheel. Despite these visual changes, the overall body shape remains consistent with the current version.

Technically, the 2028 iX2 will continue to utilize the existing FAAR architecture rather than the new Neue Klasse platform. The vehicle is expected to retain its current powertrain configurations, including the eDrive20 and xDrive30 models. These versions currently offer 201 and 308 horsepower respectively, powered by a 66.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
