BMW Group has scheduled the global premiere of the eighth-generation 3 Series for September 30. For the first time in the model's 50-year history, the lineup will include a fully electric version alongside traditional internal combustion engine variants.
The internal combustion engine models will utilize a modernized CLAR architecture. The exterior design will incorporate elements from the Neue Klasse direction, featuring a redesigned front end, updated headlights, and a new interpretation of the signature kidney grille.
The interior will draw inspiration from BMW's latest electric vehicles, featuring a next-generation infotainment system. A key addition is the Panoramic iDrive, which displays information across a wide area at the base of the windshield.
The BMW 3 Series has been in production since 1975, spanning seven generations. Cumulative global sales have surpassed 10 million units, with over 2 million vehicles from the family sold in the Chinese market alone by August 2026.
