BMW has been spotted testing the next-generation 3 Series, codenamed G50, without any camouflage at its Munich facility. The prototype belongs to the M Performance range, specifically the M350 xDrive model, which features a quad exhaust system and M Sport elements like a trunk spoiler and black accents.
The new 3 Series shares its design language with the electric i3, despite being built on the traditional CLAR architecture rather than the Neue Klasse platform. The M350 xDrive will come standard with adaptive suspension, an M Sport differential, and 20-inch wheels with 245/35 R20 front and 275/30 R20 rear tires.
Inside, the vehicle will abandon the traditional iDrive rotary knob and physical switchgear, adopting an interior layout similar to the i3. The G50 generation will be manufactured at the Dingolfing plant, marking a shift from the historic Munich site for the 3 Series production line.
The official world premiere of the new 3 Series is scheduled for the end of September. Following the debut, the sedan will launch in the European market, with a subsequent release in the United States planned for 2027.
