Blockstream has launched a new consulting division focused on financial institutions, including banks and asset managers. The service provides direct access to the company's engineering teams for the design and implementation of Bitcoin-based financial infrastructure.
The consulting business covers technical strategy, system architecture, and integration. It specifically targets solutions for tokenized asset issuance and confidential settlement, leveraging the firm's experience in cryptography, protocol engineering, and security.
To support these operations, Blockstream opened a new office in Lugano, Switzerland. This location will function as a hub for European activities, facilitating client relationships and partnerships across Switzerland, including Zurich, Geneva, and Zug.
The company cited Switzerland's banking tradition and regulatory framework for digital assets as key reasons for the expansion. Blockstream, founded in 2014, manages products such as the Liquid Network, Core Lightning, and the Jade hardware wallet.
No pricing details, specific client names, or headcount figures for the new Lugano office were disclosed. The firm stated that consulting services are currently available to institutions throughout Europe.
