Bitpace, a London-based crypto payment gateway founded in 2016, has integrated infrastructure from Fireblocks to improve its cross-border stablecoin settlement services. The partnership allows merchants to process payments, specifically in USDC, while bypassing traditional correspondent banking systems.
Bitpace supports transactions across more than 70 tokens and reports monthly volumes exceeding $1 billion. The company holds VASP registrations in Bulgaria and Estonia, which provides a regulatory foundation within the European Union under the MiCA framework.
Fireblocks, founded in 2018 and based in New York, provides institutional-grade custody using multi-party computation (MPC) technology. Its network currently serves over 2,400 organizations and has processed trillions in transfers across more than 150 blockchains.
The integration grants Bitpace access to the Fireblocks policy engine, enabling the use of transaction rules such as whitelisted addresses, velocity limits, and multi-approval workflows. This setup aims to replace traditional cross-border payments, which can take days and incur fees of 1.5% to 6%.
