Bitget updated its user agreement on October 16, adding Russia and Belarus to its list of restricted jurisdictions. The exchange is implementing a phased shutdown of services for residents of these countries, as reported by Kod.ru.

Starting October 18 at 10:00 Moscow time, the platform will halt all buy and sell orders, new position openings, and staking services. Users are required to close their positions and withdraw all assets by 10:00 Moscow time on October 21.

If users fail to withdraw their funds by the deadline, the exchange will force-close positions. Account access restrictions will begin on October 21 at 19:00 Moscow time, and those who miss the window must contact customer support.

The list of restricted countries already includes the United States, Japan, Germany, Austria, and Kazakhstan. This move follows a security incident last month where hackers stole approximately $388 million from the exchange's hot wallets.
