Bitcoin marks its 18th anniversary since the publication of the whitepaper by Satoshi Nakamoto on October 31, 2008. The asset currently trades at approximately $77 330, with a total market capitalization reaching about $1,55 trillion.

A significant portion of the early supply, estimated at 1,1 million BTC, is attributed to an early miner believed to be Nakamoto. These holdings remain inactive, with a current estimated value of $85 billion. The potential movement of these funds remains a source of market uncertainty.

Recent technical developments involve the use of Anthropic’s Claude AI to reconstruct 2009 Bitcoin software, achieving a byte-for-byte match. Additionally, researchers used AI to analyze NSA-supplied encryption standards, finding no hidden flaws in the network.

Despite these findings, concerns persist regarding future AI capabilities. Investor Chamath Palihapitiya has suggested that AI could theoretically compromise Bitcoin security, while researchers note that future advancements might identify mathematical vulnerabilities in public keys.
