BCE Inc. has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with the Government of Saskatchewan to expand its Bell AI Fabric data center campus near Regina. The project aims to increase the facility's total capacity to 1.2 gigawatts, representing approximately one-fifth of the total power grid capacity of SaskPower.

The total capital investment for the project is projected to exceed $50 billion, potentially becoming the largest private-sector expenditure in the history of Saskatchewan. The agreement, finalized on September 14, 2026, follows the province's Data Centre Framework released in August 2026.

The campus currently has a 300 MW facility under construction with a budget of $1.7 billion, of which $1.3 billion is allocated for 2026. CoreWeave and Cerebras Systems have already secured capacity at the site for the initial phase of development.

The planned expansion of 900 MW will be executed in stages, utilizing a 'Bring Your Own Power' model based on natural gas generation. The facility will also feature closed-loop cooling technology to minimize water usage compared to standard cooling systems.

BCE anticipates creating between 800 and 3,000 construction jobs, along with 500 to 600 permanent positions. The company also intends to relocate its headquarters to the site, which will include additional management roles.
