The Basis company has released version 2.3 of its Basis SDS software-defined storage platform. The update includes over 80 improvements and fixes focused on system stability and administrative efficiency.

New features include scheduled cluster health checks with historical data tracking, a role-based access control system featuring a read-only observer role, and bulk management tools for iSCSI and NBD virtual disk operations.

The release enhances background process reliability, specifically regarding snapshot cleanup and task synchronization. The default timeout for disk initialization has been increased to 60 seconds.

An updated installer now automates package management and migration from Python 2 to Python 3. The platform now supports Ubuntu 26, Astra Linux 1.8, and offers limited functionality on vCore.
