Following a public debate over brake pedal safety, several automotive brands have begun disclosing technical specifications and materials for their pedal assemblies. Executives from Voyah, GAC Honda, Mengshi, Yangwang, and Dongfeng Peugeot shared photos and test data on social media to demonstrate their hardware standards.

GAC Honda reported that its Accord brake pedal uses high-rigidity steel capable of withstanding over 3000N of pressure. Yangwang stated that its U8, U8L, and U7 models utilize metal pedals with an internal corporate standard of 2500N. Mengshi emphasized that its pedals are designed for extreme off-road conditions and exceed national standards.

Other manufacturers, including Buick, Shenlong, and Sheng-Hao, also released videos showcasing the metal construction of their brake pedals. Meanwhile, major Chinese EV startups like Xiaomi, Nio, Xpeng, and Li Auto have not participated in this public demonstration.

The China Automotive Technology and Research Center has initiated a survey regarding the use of non-metallic materials in brake pedals. Industry experts note that pedal safety depends on a combination of factors, including material fatigue, structural stress, and overall vehicle collision performance, rather than just individual component tests.
