Audi has announced a significant leadership transition for its China division, effective November 1, 2026. Former Chery brand CEO Jeff Zhang will assume the role of president of Audi China, succeeding Johannes Roscheck, who is returning to Germany. Additionally, Rolf Michl, currently the chairman of the management board of Audi Sport GmbH, will join the leadership team as chief operating officer.

The company is implementing a dual-leadership structure to streamline operations and enhance local decision-making. This shift occurs as Audi adjusts its strategy regarding its two Chinese joint ventures. Reports indicate that SAIC Audi will focus exclusively on the new AUDI brand, while the traditional four-ring Audi brand will be managed by FAW Audi.

The new AUDI brand, which features a distinct logo, is supported by the recently established AUDI Innovation and Technology Center in Shanghai. Audi and SAIC Motor plan to develop four new models on the ADP 2.0 platform, with the first vehicle expected to debut in 2028. Rouven Mohr will take over as the interim head of Audi Sport GmbH starting in November.
